Schluter DITRA-HEAT Matting is a polyethylene membrane with a unique cut-back stud structure. An anchoring fleece is laminated to the underside. It’s a universal substrate for tile coverings, serving as an uncoupling, crack bridging, and waterproofing layer. This matting is designed to carry the Schluter DITRA-HEAT-E-HK Heating Cable.
Schluter DITRA-HEAT Mats measure 0.8m² (0.8m x 1m).
You can use Schluter DITRA-HEAT Matting on both walls and floors. The Schluter DITRA-HEAT-E-HK Heating Cable snaps easily into the matting without needing fasteners or clips. Since you can install the heating cable only where you need it, you get a cost-efficient and effective under-tile heating installation.
Features and Benefits
The Schluter DITRA-HEAT Matting is non-rotting, waterproof, elastic, and crack-bridging. The material is highly resistant to solutions containing salts, acids, and alkalis, as well as many organic solvents, alcohols, and oils. You should verify the material’s suitability based on specific chemical stresses, including the concentration, temperature, and length of exposure. The material has a relatively high water vapor diffusion seal and is physiologically safe. For special cases, you must verify its suitability based on anticipated chemical and mechanical stresses.
Due to the system’s special characteristics, coverings installed over Schluter DITRA-HEAT Matting might have a certain hollow sound when you walk on them with hard shoes or tap them with a hard object. We only approve this matting for use with heating cables for floor and wall heating in interior areas.
The matting is also available with a special sound-proofing thermal barrier fleece, called Schluter DITRA-HEAT-DUO. This version features a special thermal fleece laminated to the underside. This fleece bonds with the adhesive, reduces impact sound, and enables a faster heat-up response for the tiled covering.
