Why the Emphasis Now?

The government’s directive stipulates that, starting in 2025, new homes will no longer incorporate gas boilers. Although the precise timeline for the complete phasing out of gas boilers remains unconfirmed, it is increasingly likely to occur in the coming years, as stringent regulations curtail the use of fossil fuels like natural gas. Moreover, given that 80% of the homes anticipated for occupancy by 2050 have already been constructed, the transition to achieve net-zero emissions requires the retrofitting of as many as 27 million properties with low-carbon heating solutions.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme has undergone an expansion, enabling homeowners to now receive a £7,500 reduction in the cost of installing a heat pump.

Under the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, you have the opportunity to secure a grant that offsets a portion of the expenses incurred when transitioning from fossil fuel heating systems to a heat pump.

Fossil fuel heating systems encompass oil, gas, or electric.
